The data stored and where, the use of the internet connection, and the licences of the data sources.

Use of the internet connection

The application has no account, advertising or tracking, and sends no data about you. The internet connection is used for the following three purposes only, at your request or for reading data:

• Downloading recitation recordings from their providers (cdn.islamic.network or mp3quran.net).
• Fetching ayah timing data (timing/) from masjidonline.id for reciters whose recordings are one file per surah. This data holds timing corrections made by Masjid Online and is refreshed once a day.
• Opening links from the Info menu in your browser.

Data stored on your computer

See Getting started → Where the data is stored. Bookmarks, favourites, the position last read, the search history and the settings are kept in quran.db; recitations in the audio/ folder. No data is synchronised with any service.

Licences

The text of the Qur'an (Tanzil, CC BY 3.0), the tajweed mapping, the translations (QuranEnc), the mushaf (KFGQPC) and the typefaces (SIL OFL) are included in the application under their respective licences. The full list, with the terms of each, is available under Info → Sources. Recitation recordings are not included; you download them yourself from the providers for personal use.
